The UPA government that had been hoping for some quick relief over its challenge filed on Saturday, against Andhra Pradesh High Court order quashing the minority sub quota, instead got pulled up by the Supreme Court. The SC, while refusing to stay the High Court order, finds fault with the Centre for the manner in which the government went about deducting the 4.5% figure for the sub quota for minorities within the OBC quota. The SC has asked the Centre to file by Wednesday the material on the basis of which it arrived at the sub quota.
