The Home Minister's insensitive comment that the middle-class complain too much about the rising prices has drawn much flak from the Opposition. The BJP has called the comments 'heartless', saying that Chidambaram is merely rubbing salt on the common man's wounds without dealing with the issue at its roots. BJP Spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad also rakes up P Chidambaram's 'dismal' tenure as Finance Minister, in the light of the Home Minister being pitched as the next Finance Minister of India.
