Description:
An appeal by the United States of America and an inconsistent International Boxing Federation bowing to the Big Brother has denied an Indian boxer a much-deserved win yet again. 20-year-old Vikas Krishnan, who won the 69-kg boxing event on Friday, is denied the win in a controversial decision review. Vikas won 13-11 over USA's Errol Spence in a thrilling contest, but following an appeal by the rival team's management, the AIBA awarded the bout 15-13 to the American. The decision has kicked up a massive political storm as the head of India's Olympic Committee challenges the reviewed decision again. Earlier, India's protest against pugilist Sumit Sangwan's controversial loss fell on deaf ears, despite Sumit coming out stronger in the opening-round clash in the 81-kg category.
