Heeding to representations made by Andhra Pradesh MPs who met as a delegation with the Prime Minister, the Centre has decided to stop diversion of gas to Maharashtra from the Krishna-Godavari basin. The gas supply will help AP tide over the shortage of gas to its gas-based power plants who are facing shortage of fuel. AP has private power projects while Maharashtra has a public sector gas power project.
