Pan Paaduvom is a Tamil show on Makkal TV which encourages young, talented students to sing hymns from Thiruvasagam and Thiruvembavai. The show aims at educating people on Carnatic music and Renowned musicians Vijayalakshmi and Santhi explain each raaga and the nuances behind each of them. Thiruvasagam is a volume of Tamil hymns composed by the ninth century Shaivite bhakti poet Manikkavacakar. It contains 51 compositions and constitutes the eighth volume of the Tirumurai, the sacred anthology of Tamil Shaiva Siddhanta. Thiruvempavai is a wonderful 'bhakti pattu' from Tamil Nadu, which is narrated at Thiruvannamalai in the month of Margazhi.
