Maha Shakthi is a Tamil mega-serial on Captain TV which centres around women and the problems they face in our society. There is an old proverb in Tamil which says a woman is a woman's enemy and this roughly forms the plot of this mega serial. Women today despite progressing in various spheres of life are still oppressed in society. Even to this day brides are being torched to death for insufficient dowry, female foeticide is on the rise and women are abused by men and most importantly by other women. The aim of this show is to remind people that the world would perish if women cease to exist. Only a woman has the power to create, she is a mother, a sister, a friend and wife and plays different roles in her life for the better of the family and society, but it is a woman who is discriminated and oppressed by the society. This mega serial shows how a woman can give love when she is patient but she can also take the take the form of Maha Shakthi if put to the test.
