Patanjali Yoga is a Telugu health show currently airing on TV1. It is an attempt by Baba Ramdev to popularize yoga among Indians. In this series, Baba travels to various parts of the nation and shows yoga asanas and talks about important issues related to life. Baba Ramdev, who was born and brought up in Haranya, studied till class 8 and then went on to study yoga, Sanskrit, and scriptures at Haridwar. He gave up worldly life to became a sanyasi, and took up the name, Baba Ramdev. After reading Aurobindo Ghosh's, Yogik Sadhan, he went to the Himalaya's to practice meditation. Swamiji took on the arduous task of simplifying and popularizing Patanjali Yoga so that the masses can adopt yoga and ayurveda as part of their lifestyle. Patanjali Yoga was his first project and in these camps, he stresses on the thousands of people who attend, to learn all the eight forms of pranayamam along with yoga asanas useful for various ailments.
