Kumkumam is a programme on Kairali TV which features the achievements of women from different walks of life. Hosted by Thara Ravishankar, the different segments of the show --'Penperuma', 'Jnan Vanna Vazhi', 'Aksharangalile Aval', 'Nizhalai Nilavai', 'Madhuramam Marubhasha', 'Soothram' and 'Chithrapadham' --aim at entertaining & empowering housewives. 'Penperuma' features successful women from the field of art, literature, acting, politics and business. In the segment 'Jnan Vanna Vazhi', popular television actors recall their journey so far. 'Aksharangalile Aval' is a segment on literature hosted by professor Ambika Devi, and 'Madhuramam Marubhasha', hosted by Reetha Madhav Naik aims at improving the English language skills of women. 'Nizhalai Nilavai' features the women behind successful men, while 'Soothram' provides housewives with helpful kitchen tips.
