Description:
Sahasranamam is a devotional programme on Sri Sankara TV where a viewer is given an opportunity to see the grandeur with which different deities are worshipped with the background of Sahasranamam. Sahasranama is where a Hindu deity is referred to by 1,000 or more names. 'Sahasra' means a thousand, or more generally, a very large number. 'Nama' means name. A sahasranama provides a terse but encyclopedic guide to the attributes and legends surrounding a Hindu deity. The aim of this programme is to take the viewer on a virtual tour of the diety to the music of Sahasranamam as a lot of people do not have the luxury of time to go to a temple for worship and enjoy chanting the Sahasranam while doing. The viewers can feel at ease in the comforts of their home and enjoy singing along the Sahasranamam of a different deity every day of the week along with the divine visuals of that particular deity being worshipped throughout the programme.
