Description:
In the Independence Day special, The Foodie travels to an Indian outpost on India-Pakistan border. Kunal Vijaykar takes part in paying homage to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the country, the flag-hoisting ceremony, and sings the national anthem, all as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Along with the soldiers he has his share of the cake, the sweets and the snacks. Army chef Naik Pratap Rajput demonstrates how Kolhapuri chicken is prepared to provide nutrition for those who guard India's borders day and night without fail. The chicken is marinated with curd, red chilli powder and salt are sprinked over it, ginger garlic is added, mixed together and cooked. Onions, cumin, cloves, black pepper, black cardamom, dry coconut, white sesame, bay leaves are also taken seperately and cooked. The marinated chicken is then added to this mixture and fried. Kunal then partakes of this sumptuous meal with the jawans and joins them in unwinding down by the campfire.
